Description
Date, Time, and Place: Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 7:00 am for the Kids Mile and 7:30 am for the 10K and 5k Races. Starts and Finishes at the Springbrook Pool at 636 Vose Road, Alcoa, TN 37701.
Bib Pickup: Early pickup - Thursday July 18 - 5p to 7p, Dicks House of Sport - West Town Mall. Day of bib pickup, race site, 6:00am-7:20am
Directions: From Knoxville go south on Highway 129 (Alcoa Highway) to East Hunt Road exit. Take East Hunt Road and turn right on Springbrook Road. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on Faraday Street. Springbrook Pool is on your right. Please watch for ongoing Alcoa Highway construction in 2023.
Lodging: We are grateful that the Hilton Knoxville Airport is literally across the highway from our race location. They have offered a special discount for KTC runners. When booking online at hilton.com, enter the following code number in the "Corp ID" field: 3237153. Alternatively, you can call the hotel directly at 865-970-4300 and ask for the Knoxville Track Club rate.
Parking: Parking is available at several lots nearby. These include the Springbrook Pool parking lot, the Springbrook Recreation Center parking lot, or Alcoa Little League Park lot. Other nearby lots are at Alcoa First United Methodist Church and Alcoa Elementary School. Please be responsible at all church, school and public parking lots and make sure to properly dispose of your trash. Please do NOT park in the condominium parking across from the pool.
Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certified Course - TN24021MS. Course starts and finishes at Springbrook Pool in Alcoa. The 5k will be one 3.1-mile loop, the 10k will be two loops. There will be two aid stations, one at mile 1.2/4.3 and one at mile 3.1/finish. Turn-by-Turn and Map
Charity Partner: This year we have partnered with the Blount County Sheriff's Office to collect donations to remember and honor Deputy Greg McCowan and Deputy Shelby Eggers. Both deputies were involved in a tragic traffic stop in February with Deputy McCowan being fatally wounded. Five dollars of every registration will be donated to the fund. Please consider donating anything additional to help support their families and loved ones.

Towels: We heard you and we've gone back to the nice, quality beach towels of the past! Everyone Pre-registered by June 30th will receive a custom beach towel on race day (no t-shirts), unless one opts for no towel at registration. Late Registrants will receive towels as supplies last.
Refreshments: Post-race refreshments and swimming will be provided for all runners and walkers at the pool. Please bring your own refreshments if you have specific dietary needs or food allergies.
Awards: Awards to the top 3 Overall, top Masters (As defined by fastest person age 40 and above, not limited to 40-49) Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 50 and above, not limited to 50-59), Senior Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 60 and above, not limited to 60-69) male and female. Age Divisions will be in 5 year increments (three deep). Awards to the top Clydesdale (male, 200 lbs+) and Athena (female, 150 lbs+). Overall winners not eligible for age division awards. Awards must be picked up during the awards ceremony. Awards will not be mailed.
Grand Prix Points Team Competition: The Springbrook Splash 10k and 5k are on the 2024 Team Competition schedule. 2024 Grand Prix Points awarded winners in various categories and age groups. Points accumulate throughout the year. KTC recognizes the top 10 men and women in the Grand Prix series at the New Year’s Day 5K on January 1, 2025. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix Points, participants must be a member of KTC and must volunteer for at least 3 KTC races throughout the year.
Results: Complete results will be available on the KTC Website at www.ktc.org.
Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. Failure to follow might result in disqualification.
