Help support East Tennessee Children's Hospital as I prepare to participate in the Vacation Races Grand Teton/Yellowstone event!
I've committed to raise money to support East Tennessee Children's Hospital by registering as a Charity Bib for this event.
I am inspired by this cause because they are where we went for my daughter, who had a Wilms tumor diagnosed in June of 2023. Wilms is Nephroblasoma, a cancer of the kidney. Quinnlee had surgery on June 6th to remove her kidney and the cancer. She spent 9 days at ETCH, and has been back for more scans and visits each month since that time, including a recent surgery on her knee. From the moment we arrive at ETCH until our discharge, we were treated with the utmost respect and compassion by all the caregivers: from the nurses, to doctors, therapists, child life specialists, dietitians, PACU staff, anesthesiologists, techs, and nursing assistants. The staff did a fantastic job and made sure were we informed of what was happening every step along the way. It was very clear that everyone at ETCH was there for the kids and families, not because it was a job but because it was a passion. Because of their fast diagnosis and scheduling, we were blessed that Quinn has remained cancer free and reaching normal milestones. After our experience, I wanted to try to find a way to give back to the hospital, and I thought this would be a great way.
East Tennessee Children's Hospital (ETCH) uses donations to directly improve patient care by funding new medical equipment, supporting research and training programs, covering uncompensated care costs, and enhancing facilities, all aimed at providing the best possible treatment for children in the region; essentially, every donation contributes to the overall quality of care provided at the hospital. This is part of the reason our daughter is here with us today.
I have until May 24th, 2025 to reach my goal. Once I do, I'll be eligible to run!
Will you help me raise money to support this incredible mission?
