Compete for Glory at Save the 10,000!

On May 3rd, the inaugural Save the 10,000 brings elite 10,000-meter racing back to center stage at the legendary Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. This exclusive event offers 60 top athletes—30 men and 30 women—a rare chance to chase qualifying standards for the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships and the 2025 World Athletics Championships.

Athletes must meet the automatic qualifying standards—28:30 for men and 33:30 for women—to guarantee their spot in the Save the 10,000 race. Those who have not hit these marks will be placed on a waitlist and admitted on a descending time basis as spots become available.

Under the lights, competitors will race for a $25,000 prize purse, split evenly between men’s and women’s fields. The top eight finishers will take home prize money:

🏆 1st Place: $5,000
🥈 2nd Place: $3,000
🥉 3rd Place: $2,000
4️⃣ 4th Place: $1,000
5️⃣ 5th Place: $700
6️⃣ 6th Place: $500
7️⃣ 7th Place: $200
8️⃣ 8th Place: $100

This is your shot to compete at the highest level in a race designed to celebrate and preserve the 10,000-meter distance.
