TdH exists to encourage healthy lifestyles, build meaningful connections, and support organizations making a lasting impact across Kansas City. Every mile ridden, every volunteer who shows up, every sponsor who believes in our mission, and every donation made helps strengthen our community while supporting the work of Hope Center KC.
Since 2012, TdH has raised more than $250,000 through unforgettable cycling experiences that welcome riders of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Whether you’re joining us for your first ride or your fifteenth, every pedal stroke helps move our mission forward.
The Start
TOUR de HOPE began with a simple idea from founder Mike Darby: create a cycling event that was as fun as it was meaningful.
Mike had a remarkable ability to bring people together. He believed the best communities were built through generosity, connection, and a shared purpose. Tour de Hope became an expression of that belief and a reminder of the way Mike lived every day.
After Mike’s tragic passing, our community chose to carry his vision forward. Today, every ride honors his legacy by welcoming new riders, supporting Hope Center KC, and embracing the spirit that continues to guide us: Live Like Mike.
What began as one man’s vision for a fun charity bike ride has grown into a year-round community committed to riding for something bigger than ourselves.
More Than a Ride
Today, TdH is more than a single day on the calendar. Alongside our signature Road Ride through Kansas City, we’ve expanded to include TdH Gravel in Pleasant Hill, free community group rides, and our Ride for Good initiative that keeps cyclists connected throughout the year.
Whether you’re training for your first event, chasing a personal best, discovering gravel, or simply enjoying a ride with friends, there’s a place for you here. Because no matter how you ride, every mile helps build a stronger cycling community and a stronger Kansas City.
