For the past 11 years, our family has participated in Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation's DASH for Detection, to raise funds for early-detection research and provide resources for patients and families impacted by pancreatic cancer.
What started as a way to honor our brother-in-law, Andrew Weiner, who passed away at age 44, has also become an opportunity to connect with others impacted by this disease. Given the recent cuts in federal funding for cancer research, DASH has taken on an even greater significance this year — without funding, researchers will be let go, labs will be closed and valuable progress will be lost.
To commemorate the 15th Annual DASH, I am taking on the “Power of 15” Challenge and asking for your support — if you are able to donate just $15, Rolfe can continue funding groundbreaking research that will in turn, help to save more lives.
Last but not least! If you would like to join Team Andrew for the DASH, we would love to walk/run with you! The DASH is on Saturday, June 7th at Montrose Harbor starting at 8 am (the actual race begins at 9 am, but the fun starts early -- bagels and coffee included!).
Thank you for your support,
Wendy
