It’s almost RACE DAY! Thank you once again for joining us at the 13th annual Wolfson Children's Challenge. 

This year’s event committee and planning team have carefully adjusted the event’s format to prioritize the health of our participants and volunteers, and to minimize touch points and onsite capacity. 

At this time, we are still planning for the event to be held in person and have put a variety of safety measures in place: 

• Face masks are strongly recommended inside the event, regardless of vaccination status.
• Face masks will be required in specific Mask Zones of the event.
• To minimize touch points, the number of Community Village vendors has been decreased.
• To minimize crowds, we have created a shortened stage presence and timeline. 
• Volunteers are required to wear a face mask, subject to temperature checks, and have reviewed a Volunteer Health Promise to do their part to help keep participants safe.
• Registration for all running events is limited to reduce capacity.
• Relay team tents will be positioned apart from one another. 
• We are planning additional space for our athlete transition area, where runners can wait for incoming relay team members, and exchange the race bib & belt.
• We have increased housekeeping efforts for shared spaces, such as restrooms. To see any updates regarding the health and safety of this event, please visit:

Packet Pickup Schedule: 

Friday 11am-4pm or Saturday starting at 5:30 a.m.
*Be sure to bring your photo I.D. and email confirmation for your team registration. 

At packet pickup, you are allowed to bring your tent to set up, as well as tables and chairs you would like to have under your tent (tents must be weighted, no stakes allowed). For this year’s event, all relay team tents will be spaced out for social distance. 

Relay teams: Any team member may pick up the team race packets with a copy of the registration confirmation. That person will be responsible for distributing materials to the other members of the team.

Parking 

• The start/finish line is on the baseball field. Parking is available in Lot P south and Lot J, between the 121 Financial Ballpark and TIAA Field. 

Race Instructions 

Please review these race instructions prior to the day of the race. 

• 1-Mile Fun Run
Runners can register the day of the race for the 1-mile fun run at the registration tent. Registration is $25 shirt included or $10, shirt not included. 

Races: 

7 am - 55K Solo and Relay 8 am - 30K
1:30 pm - 1 Mile Fun Run 

55K Relay: 

• The relay will start at 7am. Not all members of your team have to arrive at the same time, but we do recommend those running in the first few loops arrive on time. There will be only be one person from your team running at one time for their portion of the relay race. Each person will run a 5K and then hand off their timing belt to the next person who is running for the relay team. We recommend you establish what order you all will be running! 

o We are expanding the relay waiting area (where you exchange your timing belt with your team member) to help ensure adequate space for people to social distance. Please be mindful of others and allow space between runners who are waiting for their leg of the race. 

o Please note: if you do not have a full team of 11 people that is okay, but you might have to double up on how many times you need to run the 5K loop. 

• Each relay team will receive one timing belt, which means you must pass it off to the next person to keep track of your team’s time. 

Crossing the Finish Line 

• There is a cut off time for the 55K, 30K, and Relay Team races. Participants will not be allowed to start a lap after 2 pm and the course will close at 3 pm no matter where someone is on the route. At 3 pm the finish line, results and course support will close. Only officially registered participants, volunteers, and race officials are allowed on the course. Family members who aren't registered are not allowed to run across the finish line with runners. If you do not have a race number, volunteer t-shirt, or race official race credentials, you will be asked to leave the course. 

Wolfson 55 Celebration 

• We are excited to celebrate and honor our Wolfson 55 children and families at this year’s event! We have extended the Wolfson 55 ceremony to honor children throughout the day to minimize crowds. 

On Site Food 

Food Court – located in right field
o Dunkin Donuts: 5:30 am- until items run out o Beer Sales: 8 am - until the end of race
o Chick-Fil-A: 10 am- 1 pm 

§ If you are interested in pre-ordering a platter of food from Chick-Fil-A we will send an additional email with more information on how to order. 
Registered runners participating in the event may bring one (1) small cooler (may not exceed 60 qt size). 
Alcohol is strictly prohibited. All coolers will be searched upon event entry. Coolers in violation of size or content will not be allowed to enter the event. Due to safety and security, grills, crockpots and other devices that require flame or electric for heat are not allowed in the event area. Coolers without wide wheels are prohibited for spectators. 

Community Village/Kids Zone: 

• For the health and safety of all participants, we have reduced the size of the Community Village and Kids Zone. These areas are combined for this year’s event, and we encourage all guests to where masks in these areas. 

Lost & Found 

• Lost and Found is located at the registration tent. Items will be held for 30 days post- race and then donated to a local charity. To locate your lost items after the event, please email to: foundation@bmcjax.com.
