The Wichita Falls Runners Club (WFRC) was founded in 1978 to promote the spirit of running and fitness in Wichita Falls, TX and the surrounding area. Today that spirit is alive and well thanks to our members.
With the WFRC, running is all about fitness and fun! We have a wide range of members who enjoy running every distance and speed, ranging from casual walkers to recreational runners to hardcore racers… everyone is welcome.
The club is very active with all types of running and walking activities in the community. There are regular running groups several times a week, bimonthly meetings, guest speakers, fun runs, organized races, running trips and plenty of fun for all!
Members receive $5 discounts towards all WFRC events and discounts on select other local events such as THOR.

The Xpress Half Marathon Is probably one of the flattest and fastest half marathons around. Only 67 ft of elevation for the whole course. Our 12k route is even flatter. That's why we claim the name the "Flastest" Half marathon around. If you are looking for a first HM, or getting a PR, this is your event!
Starting at Memorial Stadium, the course takes you to the Lake Wichita Park paved trail system and guides you along the banks of Lake Wichita with great views of our beautiful park. This is an out and back course with a detour on the way back which takes you down the Chat trail. Chat trail is 1.5 miles of gravel trail with stunning views. The 12k route uses a portion of the half marathon course.
The 5k route starts at the same time and winds through the beautiful neighborhood behind the stadium.
Proceeds go to OHANA SAFETY FUND, a nonprofit fund to expand learning of road safety to all! Working closely with TXDOT this fund will help with education of road safety for runners, cyclists, and all who share the road. This fund is in honor of those who have lost their lives doing what they love in the local North Texas area.
The nine-week Train to 5k program begins on March 5, 2024.

Join us for the second annual Spring Fling 5k Run/Walk hosted by the Wichita Falls Runners Club (WFRC).
This great course starts at the Main Pavilion at Lucy Park and winds along a shady tree-lined trail adjacent to the Wichita River. Runners and walkers will enjoy the undulating out-and-back course that passes the Falls and then returns to an enthusiastic finish line crowd. The trail is a fully paved 10ft wide path.

The Wee-Chi-Tah Trail has been voted the best urban off-road trail in the State of Texas! It is a fun trail with many short, steep climbs, and screaming descents. It will be the venue for the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail Run. The 12 mile and 10K distance trail runs on Sunday, August 25, 2024 will begin at 7:00AM.

T.H.O.R. represents everything that is right with the world today - mud, guts and everybody nuts. Trust us... someone nuts is going to be running with or near you. Come experience the insanity and the awesome adrenaline rush.
The 5K(ish) run starts and ends at our awesome T.H.O.R. village. We will have food, beverages and music for participants and spectators to enjoy while experiencing this fun adventure event . Step up to the starting line and face the 20+ challenging obstacles that await you, including several new surprises every year!
Afraid you are not up to the challenge? Don't worry, you can go at your own pace and walk if you need to. Also, most obstacles have a by-pass option if you are having trouble or just don't feel up to tackling a particular obstacle.
As always, we expect fair team play with random strangers. Remember this event is about having an old-fashioned roll in the mud good time and supporting two great local non-profit organizations. All proceeds benefit Wichita Falls Streams & Valleys and Leadership Wichita Falls (LWF).
Us adults shouldn't get to have ALL the fun... so we have something for the younger adventure seekers out there too! We have a totally separate course built just for the kids ages 4 -12 with two distance and difficulty options. Kid's early registration price is just $25 up thru February 29th (after that it is $30 until the day of the event and $35 onsite).
