Official Rules & Scoring
Participation begins after you register. If you ran a Series race before registering, it will not count in your standings. Points are not retroactive.
To be eligible for awards, participants must complete a minimum of seven races. If a runner completes more than seven, only the top seven scores will be counted, and all participation points in the final scoring.
Your age group is determined by your age as of January 1.
Age groups are as follows: 10 & Under / 11-15 / 16-19 / 20-24 / 25-29 / 30-34 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65-69 / 70 & Over
Awards will be presented to the top five overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female age group finishers. Overall awards adhere to USATF regulations.
In situations of name change due to marriage, divorce, etc., participants must sign up for races with his/her name listed as it appears in the Road Race Series results in order for his/her results to be counted.
Scoring
All races are scored with the default result set that is generated on each race day for the event predestined for RRS.
All participants, regardless of if they are in the RRS or not will get scored for the race. Points are allocated as such: Overall to 5th place will receive 150,140,130,120,110 points appropriately for both genders. After that, points are then allocated for the top 3 in each of the respective age groups with points being 100,90,80 points.
All participants, including overall and age group winners, will be getting participation points as well for the race. Participation points will only be scored by runners' best 7 races.
RRS members, who have paid the membership fee to join in the series, will gain 1000 additional points upon signing up for the series.
