In 2012, I moved away from my hometown for a career opportunity. Shortly after settling in, I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 35. I was extremely lucky that it was caught early and cured by surgery. However, during the months leading up to my operation, I was scared, uncertain of my future, and mostly alone in a new town with a new job, far away from many of my friends and family.
Years later, after moving to New Hampshire and joining the staff of Concord Hospital Trust, I learned about the HOPE Resource Center and wished I had a resource like it during my cancer journey. The compassionate staff are the supportive friends and family away from home that offer so many patients not only nutritional, financial, and social work services, but emotional, spiritual support and peace of mind. I have heard many patients refer to the staff and providers at HOPE as "angels" and it is not uncommon for patients in remission to return to the Payson Center to say hello or give back through volunteering.
It is because of charitable contributions that the HOPE Resource Center exists. Please donate to my Rock’N Race run this year and help support programs at Payson so the angels of HOPE Resource Center can care for as many cancer patients in our community as possible. Thank you and Rock On!
