The Perkins Family YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of the Chesapeake, opened in St. Michaels on May 19, 2007. Between 2007 and 2019, the YMCA grew from 700 to 1800 members and developed six different community outreach programs that provided services and opportunities to community youth. Today, the YMCA sits on the campus of St. Michaels Middle High School and serves over 2,500 residents of the St. Michaels and greater Bay Hundred communities.

The YMCA Annual Campaign is an annual fundraising campaign focused on raising much needed resources to support proven YMCA programs that give kids the opportunities they need to reach their full potential: to live healthier, happier lives today, and grow into productive adults in the future.
