Q: What is FISH OF SANCAP?
A: FISH OF SANCAP is a social services organization focused on 'neighbors helping neighbors' with a vision to create communities where all people have the support they need to thrive. Our mission is to enrich the lives of all people in Sanibel and Captiva Islands by neighbors helping neighbors with social services, education and assistance. Q: Can I walk the race?
A: Yes, both the 10K and the 5K support walkers
Q: Can I bring my pet to the race and/or concert?
A: Only service animals are allowed to participate in our event. Pets are not permitted
Q: Do I need a ticket for the concert?
A: Your purchase receipt is your ticket. No tickets will be emailed or mailed. If you cannot find your receipt, we'll have you on our list! Or, email maggiegoldsmith@fishofsancap.org for a copy of your receipt
Q: I want to stay on the islands for the weekend. Do you have hotel partnerships?
A: Yes! We have both island and off-island hotel partners. To view specifics, please navigate to our Hotel Partner page
Q: Where do I park for the race?
A: Parking is available at the following locations:
- Big Arts Strauss Theater, enter off of Periwinkle directly across from the Sanibel Community House
- Sanibel Public Library, 770 Dunlop Road
- Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle
- Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, 2050 Periwinkle
- Saint Michael's, 2304 Periwinkle
Q: Can I get my race packet in advance?
A: Yes! Advance Race Packet Pick-Up is as follows:
- Thurs., Dec. 5, beginning at 5:00pm-7:00pm: Sanibel Adventures in Paradise, 2019 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957
- Fri., Dec. 6, beginning at 8:00am-11:00am: Sanibel Recreation Center, 3880 Sanibel Captiva Rd, Sanibel, FL 33957
- Fri., Dec. 6, beginning at 2:00pm-7:00pm: Fleet Feet Fort Myers, 13499 S Cleveland Ave Ste 209, Fort Myers, FL 33907
- Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration for 10K/5K will be from 6:00-6:45 a.m.
Q: Is there a fee to cross the bridge to Sanibel?
A: Yes. There is a toll of $6.00 to cross the bridge to Sanibel. The bridge is under construction which may cause delays
Q: Can teams compete in the 10K and 5K races?
A: Yes! This year for the 5K and 10K in-person races we have added team competition awards. Please see below. For additional information on how teams are timed, visit our teams page.
- Persons must sign up to be on a team during the entry process
- Team signup ends Saturday December 6th at 6 pm
- After that time there is no further team signup or additions
- We suggest that team captains have at least 6 team members on their roster although just 5 team members will be scored
- If you have already signed up and now wish to be on or create a team then contact our timer and registrar - Mark at Lin-Mark Sports - include your name and the team that you now want to join or create. Mark's contact information is: linmarksports@linmarksports.com
Q: What band is playing at the concert?
A: The name of the band is Funk You. For over a decade, Funk You has enchanted audiences with an unmistakably intoxicating blend of modern and vintage sounds. Comprised of eight kindred spirits, this close-knit troupe is driven by an unwavering passion for live performance and emboldened by their own exuberance - making them one of the most electrifying acts in contemporary funk.

Q: Can I bring my own food and drinks to the concert?
A: Food, drinks and alcohol will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol and/or food will be permitted on the premises.
