I will be running this race for the second time in support of an amazing teen, Jackie Alfinito. I would be so excited for you to join MIP, my family, friends, and me in our fundraiser to help pediatric cancer patients find happiness amidst a dark time in their life. Any amounts of donations, support, or volunteers would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a message from Jackie:
My name is Jackie Alfinito. I am 19 years old and currently in my freshman year of college. In August of 2021, I was diagnosed with Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. While this has been difficult and life-changing, there have been some bright spots. My team at Nemours Children's Hospital took great care of me physically through all of the labs, surgeries, and office visits.
It was later in 2021, however, when I was connected to the MIP Foundation which provided me with amazing coping tools and skills as well as a personalized array of gifts, crafts, and activities. The MIP Foundation supported me through the toughest period and I vowed to give back to them what they had done for me This year my fellow MIP kit recipients Lily, Marykate, and Abigail will be joining me to help fundraise and organize the race!
