My name is Jackie Alfinito. I am 19 years old and currently in my freshman year of college. In August of 2021, I was diagnosed with Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. While this has been difficult and life-changing, there have been some bright spots. My team at Nemours Children's Hospital took great care of me physically through all of the labs, surgeries, and office visits. It was later in 2021, however, when I was connected to the MIP Foundation which provided me with amazing coping skills and tools as well as a personalized array of gifts, crafts, and activities. The MIP Foundation supported me through the toughest period and I vowed to give back to them for what they had done for me.
After holding this race for my senior year graduation project, I realized I wanted to continue for another year! I will be organizing this 5k on June 1st, 2024, in Downingtown PA. The purpose of this project is to raise funds and awareness for The MIP Foundation in order to help other teens and families with pediatric cancer. The MIP Foundation's mission is to "foster and promote mental health support and social services for adolescent and young adult Oncology Patients while increasing awareness about the effects of Pediatric Cancer".
I would be so excited for your company to join MIP, my family, friends, and I in our fundraiser to help pediatric cancer patients find happiness amidst a dark time in their life. We are looking for funds and volunteers to help make this event as successful as possible. Any amounts of donations, support, or volunteers would be greatly appreciated. In exchange, we will recognize your company's contributions on the race website!
There are three levels of sponsors:
1. Power: $200-250
2. Transformation: $350-450
3. Butterfly: $500+
The highest level sponsors in the Butterfly level will be front and center on the race website and race shirt!
