For generations, Sierra Bullets and Barnes Bullets have helped define excellence in bullet manufacturing through an unwavering commitment to accuracy, performance, and innovation. Founded in 1947 by Frank Snow, Jim Spivey, and Loren Harbor in post–World War II California, Sierra Bullets emerged to meet the growing demand for high-quality reloading components, earning a worldwide reputation for its “Tradition of Precision” by focusing exclusively on rifle and handgun bullets and continually advancing manufacturing, testing, and quality control—culminating in the construction of one of the industry’s most advanced facilities in Sedalia, Missouri, complete with a 300-meter underground test range. Earlier, in 1932, Fred Barnes began crafting bullets in his Colorado basement, laying the groundwork for Barnes Bullets, which was revitalized in 1974 when passionate hunters Randy and Coni Brooks acquired the company and drove it forward through determination and hands-on experience. Their breakthrough came in 1985 with the conception of an all-copper expanding bullet, leading to the launch of the revolutionary X Bullet® in 1989, a design that transformed hunters’ expectations of terminal performance. Together, the legacies of Sierra and Barnes reflect decades of dedication to pushing bullet technology forward, earning the trust of serious marksmen and hunters around the world.
