Location: Sheep Show - Reno, Nevada
Note: You will need your favorite hunting backpack for the workout!
TOUGH SHEEP returns in 2027 with the same proven format and an even sharper edge. This one-day event is built to test the physical and mental demands of the backcountry athlete—where completion matters and grit wins the day.
Our goal is to raise over $55,000 for the Wild Sheep Foundation. Every registration directly supports that mission.
Complete the hunt workout, and you’ll be entered to win a sheep hunt. In addition, participants have a 1-in-30 chance of winning prizes from their wave sponsors. All registrants also receive a free T-shirt, swag bag, and finisher buckle.
Only 600 spots are available.
Win a Desert sheep hunt in Sonora, Mexico, with Sierra El Alamo valued at $75,000.
The Javier Artee family is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with the Wild Sheep Foundation in restoring free-ranging desert bighorn sheep to their historic range in Sonora.
Established in 2017, Sierra El Alamo encompasses more than 80,000 acres of rugged desert sheep habitat. Located approximately 160 miles south of Tucson, Arizona, 180 miles north of Hermosillo, and 30 miles east of the Sea of Cortez, the ranch has become one of the premier destinations for desert bighorn conservation and hunting.
Thanks to dedicated wildlife management and conservation efforts, the desert bighorn population is healthy, thriving, and continuing to grow. Following a 12-year hunting closure, desert bighorn sheep hunting was successfully reinstated in the area in 2017, marking a significant conservation milestone and helping ensure the long-term sustainability of the herd.
This hunt represents more than an opportunity to pursue one of North America's most sought-after trophies—it is a chance to experience firsthand the conservation success made possible through partnerships between landowners, hunters, and organizations committed to the future of wild sheep.
HUNT DATES: This desert hunt will take place during the 2027-2028 season (December – April).

What to Expect
- The event is capped at 600 participants to ensure amazing draw odds
- 30-person waves — choose your start time

- Depending on your fitness level, the workout should take 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete
- Challenge yourself to race the clock, but remember—the real victory is simply finishing the workout
