My name is Alana Carr, and I am a lifelong organ transplant recipient. My personal journey through transplantation is what inspired me to found CarrCARE Charity in Chicago, Illinois.

At CarrCARE, we believe that everyone deserves access to health education, quality care, and the opportunity to live a healthy, fulfilling life. We work to transform personal resilience into community impact through education, advocacy, and service,  with organ donation awareness at the heart of our mission.

That shared mission is what brought CarrCARE and Gift of Hope together. Together, we co-hosted an open mic night at Overflow Coffee during Organ Donation Awareness Month , a powerful evening where transplant recipients, donor families, artists, and community members gathered to share stories, heal, and inspire action. It was a reminder of why this work matters.

I am personally fundraising for Gift of Hope because I believe in their lifesaving work connecting donors and recipients across communities. I have seen firsthand how they show up for people, and I am honored to support their mission.
