FAQ's
What are the Zoom Sessions?
The meetings start the week of January 24 and are with a certified Good Form Walking/Running coach who will guide you through the program. Participants are encouraged (not required) to commit to ONE of these two weekly sessions: Monday at Noon or Tuesday at 6pm. Never Zoomed or need a refresher? Here's a video on "How to Zoom."
What if I don't want to join the Zoom sessions?
No problem! Although the sessions will include a lot of great info, participants can follow the training calendar and read the weekly emails to progress through the program.
What if I miss a Zoom session?
You have a couple of options to get the info. You can always join the other Zoom session offered. Or, there will be a link to the recording of the Monday Zoom session included in the weekly email sent on Tuesdays.
Is there a Facebook Group I can join?
Yes, Go to the 2022 Blue Cross Winter Warm Up group and join!
How do I record my distances?
Record your miles and the activity you did by a) Clicking on "Results" from the menu on the main event webpage or b) click on "manage my registration" from your confirmation email or from your RunSignUp account. Next, search for your account using your name or email address you registered with. Once you are in your account, click on "Submit Virtual Results." From there you can indicate your miles and the activity you did! You can record activities daily or once a week, whatever works for you!
Can I do multiple activities or one activity multiple times a day?
Yes, whenever you get your time in counts! To add another entry, go to the "Results page," choose "Add Another Activity." DO NOT JUST OVERWRITE THE PREVIOUS ACTIVITY OR IT WILL BE ERASED AND NOT COUNT. Each time you complete a new activity/time, you need to click "Add Another Activity." At the end of the challenge, you will see all the activities you completed!
I'm in another event during the same period as the challenge. Can I count those miles, too?
Yes! Anytime you’re walking or running counts in this challenge.
Why do I have to join a team?
Each community team is trying to contribute the most miles to the cumulative goal of 22,000 miles. Even if you don't live in any of the named communities we want you to join whichever team you are closest to.
What if I'm a community leader and want to have a team for our community?
We welcome any new communities! Please email our program coordinator at cynthia@playmakersfitnessfoundation.org to get added!
What is the time frame to log miles in the challenge?
You can log your running and/or walking miles from 12:01am on Monday, January 24 through 11:59pm EST on Saturday, March 19.
