Marietta Power and Water was created by the city of Marietta in 1906 to provide low-cost electricity and water to the citizens of Marietta and Cobb County.

Board of Directors
A board comprised of city and county citizens governs the actions of Marietta Power and Water, ensuring that all utility customers are represented and the economic benefits of the utility are retained by the community.

Marietta Power and Water is a member of the American Public Power Association (APPA), which is comprised of 2,000 non-profit, publicly owned and operated utilities in the United States serving more than 43 million customers.
