Nancy's Story
Calvert Marine Museum Board Member and longtime supporter, Nancy Wieck, is the mind behind this fun, new fundraiser. What started out as a personal challenge has now grown to a community-wide effort, with Nancy starting the month by completing all 50 miles in just ONE WEEK! Below, read more about why this cause means so much to her.
More than 25 years ago, my husband and I stumbled on this gem of a place. We gained a passion for all that the museum brought to the community. This included, but was certainly not limited to, their educational programs, veteran support in Charlotte Hall, summer camps, concerts, SharkFest, and toy boat building. My granddaughters have learned so much from having the museum as part of their life; it has truly allowed them to experience serving the community as volunteers while also learning about protecting our environment. There are hundreds of volunteers that do so much to keep the museum open for everyone to enjoy. This allows the museum to continue to positively impact local youth, our communities, and the environment as whole.
The museum has beautiful grounds, knowledgeable staff, and amazing exhibits for guests of all ages to explore. Their commitment to this community has inspired me to step up and encourage others to join me in supporting the museum so they can continue their efforts for another 50 years.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely,
Nancy K. Wieck
