Why We Run/Walk: Raising Awareness for Maternal Health

Every year, ACOG observes Maternal Health Awareness Day to shine a light on the urgent maternal mortality crisis in our country and underscore the importance of working together to change its course.

As a medical student, I felt a deep responsibility to contribute to this mission within my own community. That commitment led me to organize this 5K race and wellness event, a day centered on health focused activities, music, and meaningful conversations about maternal and women’s health. Now, as a resident physician, that same passion continues to burn just as strongly.

Our goal is to spark important conversations with women about their health, educate our community about maternal health disparities, empower women to advocate for themselves during pregnancy and beyond, and raise awareness and support across the state of Georgia.

This event is more than a race. It is a step toward saving lives. All proceeds will benefit Savannah Care Center, an organization dedicated to providing women with the care, education, and resources they need for a healthy pregnancy and beyond.

Join us for a day of fun, family, and education as we come together to support mothers and improve maternal health outcomes.
