How Do I Become a Fundraiser?
Thank you for partnering with us to raise funds in support of our mission. Fundraising through RunSignup is simple, and new this year, we’ve made an important update to ensure Giving Recognition Levels and milestone rewards are tracked accurately and fairly.
Below you’ll find everything you need to know about becoming a fundraiser — whether you plan to fundraise on your own or as part of a team.
New This Year: How Fundraising Is Tracked
To improve accuracy in reporting and ensure recognition levels and milestone rewards are awarded correctly, we have enabled a setting in RunSignup that prevents donations from being made directly to team pages.
What this means for your fundraising experience:
- All donations are attributed to individual fundraisers
- Team fundraising is still available and encouraged
- Individual donations automatically roll up to the team total
- Giving Recognition Levels and milestone rewards are based on individual fundraising totals
- This ensures every fundraiser receives proper credit for their efforts
This approach allows us to keep the benefits of team fundraising — camaraderie, shared goals, and motivation — while still recognizing and rewarding individual contributions accurately. [info.runsignup.com]
Important Requirement: Registration Is Required
New this year, you must be registered for the event in order to become a fundraiser.
This helps us:
- Accurately associate fundraising with participants
- Ensure proper reporting and recognition
- Provide a smoother, more transparent fundraising experience
Once registered, you’ll be able to create an individual fundraising page and join or create a team if you wish.
Individual Fundraiser
Start here — all fundraisers must first create an Individual Fundraiser page.
How to get started:
- Click “Become a Fundraiser” after registering
- Follow the prompts to set up your individual fundraising page
- Choose a fundraising goal — you can keep the suggested amount or set your own
- Use the provided description or customize your page with your personal story
- Upload a profile photo or additional images to personalize your page
- Share your fundraising page with friends, family, coworkers, and on social media
- Track donations and thank your donors directly through your page
All donations made to your individual page count toward:
- Your personal fundraising total
- Your Giving Recognition Level
- Any milestone rewards associated with your total
Team Fundraiser
Fundraising with others is still a great way to stay motivated and connected.
Here’s how team fundraising works:
- First, create your Individual Fundraiser page
- Choose to join an existing team or create a new team
- Set a team name and team fundraising goal
- Customize the team page with photos and a shared message
- Share both your individual page and the team page
Important notes about team fundraising this year:
- Donors will donate to individual fundraisers, not directly to the team page
- All individual donations will still roll up to the team’s overall total
- Giving Recognition Levels and milestone rewards are earned based on individual totals, not team totals
This ensures fairness, clarity, and accurate recognition for everyone involved. [info.runsignup.com]

- Award milestone rewards correctly
- Keep recognition levels transparent and fair
- Simplify reporting for both fundraisers and event staff
- Avoid confusion about how donations are credited
We appreciate your flexibility and thank you for helping us create a better fundraising experience this year.
