5K Trail Run for Thorncroft, August 29, 2024

The 5K Trail Run for Thorncroft will take place at Thorncroft Equestrian Center located at 190 Line Road in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Registration opens at 5:00 p.m.
Parking
All parking will be directed to Thorncroft’s Near Field parking lot, a grass field located off of our Boot Road entrance. Please enter through the gate located at the bottom of the field. Volunteers will be on-site to assist with parking. Accessible parking is available at Thorncroft’s main entrance, off of Line Road.
Restrooms
Portable restrooms and accessible restrooms are available onsite near the Near Field parking lot. We ask that you do not enter the facility to use the Farm’s restrooms.
Covid-19 Policies
For the health and safety of our community, we kindly ask that you refrain from attending the 5K Trail Run for Thorncroft if you or a close contact are ill or experiencing symptoms of Covid-19. The 5K Trail Run is an all-outdoors event.
Check-In-Begins at 5:00 p.m.
Check-in and registration is located at our North Arena porch, a short walk from the parking lot. We thank you for your patience and kindness as we welcome an expected crowd of over 300.
Emergency Services
Emergency service personnel will be onsite located by our Main Arena and near the 5K Trail Run and 5K Trail Walk finish line.
What time does registration begin?
Registration for all events will begin at 5:00 p.m. We will need your first and last name. 5K Trail runners and walkers will receive a bib for timing and race packet. One-milers will receive a race packet but not receive a bib. If you registered before or on August 7, 2024 you will receive your t-shirt at registration. We thank you for your kindness and understanding if you registered after August 9 and will not be receiving a t-shirt. We sometimes have extras which you may check-in on at the end of the race.
When does the 5K Trail Run begin?
The 5K Trail Run and 5K Trail Walk events will begin at 6:00 p.m. The 1-Mile event will begin at 6:15 p.m. In the interest of safety, runners are asked to please arrange themselves according to their pace, for example those with a six-minute mile or faster please line up in the front. Friends walking the 5K are asked to please stay behind the runners.
Are you accepting day-of registration?
Yes! Please check-in at registration beginning at 5:00 p.m. and state that you are registering the day of. If you are participating in the 5K Trail Run and 5K Trail Walk, you will receive a bib. You will not receive a bib for the 1-Mile events. Registration for the 5K or 1 Mile events is $35.00 payable by cash to Thorncroft Equestrian Center. Registration for the after-party is $25.00 payable by cash to Thorncroft Equestrian Center and open until 7:15 p.m. You may also register for the after-party anytime online up until 7:15 p.m. on 8/27/24. Admission for children under 12 for the after-party is $10.00 payable by cash to Thorncroft Equestrian Center or online via RunSignUp. Exact change if using cash is appreciated.
Are you accepting day-of registration for the after-party?
Yes, you can purchase tickets online for the after-party up until 7:15 p.m. on the day of the event (8/27/2024) or you can pay by cash at registration anytime between 5:00 p.m.-7:15 p.m. You must check in for the after-party to receive your 21+ and older bracelet.
Do I receive a t-shirt if I register day of?
No. T-shirts are reserved for participants who register on or before August 7, 2024.
What if I arrive after 6:00 p.m.? Can I participate?
Our cut-off to participate in the 5K events is 6:15 p.m. Our cut-off time to participate in the one-mile event is 6:45 p.m.
What are the 5K and 1-Mile courses like?
A true cross-country course, our 5K route features varying terrain and elevation, over asphalt, dirt, and grass paths through our horses’ pastures, with the potential for soggier areas. There will be two creek crossings and the option to jump over solid obstacles. The hill finisher at the end is a mix of grass, dirt, with steep elevation.
The one-mile features asphalt, dirt, and grass paths with some varied terrain and a sloping, upwards, hill at the beginning and middle. Optional steeper hill to finish.

Is there a course-map?
There will be an aerial view of the 5K Trail event course map posted at registration.
Is the 5K Trail Run for Thorncroft a sanctioned event?
The 5K Trail Run for Thorncroft is not a sanctioned event.
Do you have a cut-off time to complete the course?
We kindly ask all participants to complete the course by 7:45 p.m.
Will there be a water station on the course?
There will be a water-station located approximately half-way on the 5K course.
Will the courses be clearly marked?
Yes! In addition to arrows and yard-signs, we will also have volunteers stationed at several turn of directions,
Will this race be timed?
The 5K Trail Run and 5K Trail Walk event will be timed. Chester County Racing Services will provide the timing. The One-Mile will not be timed.
I am signed up for the 5K Trail Run. How do I check my results?
Great question! If you signed up for text result notifications, you will be texted your times. To check them online, visit https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Malvern/5kTrailRunforThorncroft and then click on the Results tab.
When will the winners be announced?
The winners for the 5K Trail Run event will be announced at the after-party prior to 8:00 p.m. Awards will be given to the top three male and female participants in the 5K Trail Run event.
Can I run with my pet/dog or bring them to the Farm?
Yes! Leashed dogs are welcome. Please bring water and a bowl (or water dispenser of your choice). Retractable leashes not recommended due to close proximity of participants. Dogs must be well behaved, under control, and leashed at all times. Service dogs welcome!
Can I bring my stroller or baby jogger?
We do not recommend bringing strollers or baby joggers due to the terrain and elevation.
What time does the after-party begin?
The after-party will begin at 6:30 p.m. located in our vendor area. Please follow the signage from the parking lot to registration to check in. Please note, this event is a fundraiser, and tickets are required for all event attendees. 5K Trail, 5K Walk, and One-Mile participants do not need to purchase an after-party ticket. This is included in your registration.
Do I need to check in for the after party?
Yes. Please check in at registration anytime between 5:00 p.m.-7:15 to. If over 21+, you will receive a 21+ wristband. Please note, this event is a fundraiser, and tickets are required for all event attendees. 5K Trail, 5K Walk, and One-Mile participants do not need to purchase an after-party ticket. This is included in your registration.
Is food included with my registration or purchase of an after-party pass?
Food is not included with registration. The after-party has food available for purchase. The Beer Garden beer is complimentary to all guests 21+.
What types of payments do the Food Trucks take?
The Food Trucks accepts credit cards.
What food trucks and other entertainment will be onsite?

Is there an option to participate Virtually?
There is not an option to participate virtually.
Can I pick up my registration packet early?
We are not able to accommodate early registration packet pick up.
I registered but didn't attend. May I receive a refund?
Our apologies, we are unable to issue refunds.
I registered before August 7, 2024 reserved my t-shirt, but didn't attend. Can you ship my t-shirt?
We are not able to ship items to participants. You are welcome to contact maddie@thorncroft.org to schedule a time to pick-up your shirt at Thorncroft after September 6, 2024.
What does the 5K Trail Run for Thorncroft support?
Proceeds from the 5K Trail Run for Thorncroft will support the mission of Thorncroft Equestrian Center and the care of our horses.
May I participate with an accessibility support person?
Absolutely! Accessibility support personnel and guides are welcome to join you in your event at no charge to them. Please email maddie@thorncroft.org to arrange for their complimentary registration.
