Magic Wheelchair is a 501c3 organization that promotes inclusion and self-expression by building epic adaptive wheelchair costumes — at no cost to families. Their mission is to bring communities together to create unforgettable moments and transform wheelchairs into magic. Their STEM program trains and empowers volunteer builders, makers, and students to create wheelchair costumes that bring their imaginations to life, promote inclusion, and heal the narrative of what it means to be disabled. Magic Wheelchair has served over 320 families to-date and has a waitlist of over 450 requests. The Magic Makerspace, in downtown Gresham, is their headquarters and a hub to create for the local community.
