Description
How confident are you in the mountains? Do you carry a map and a compass or use a GPS app? Do you follow your friends or choose a familiar trail you have hiked many times?
This event is a Navigational Challenge for those who want to be more confident in route finding and take control of planning where they want to go. This challenge does not require a high level of physical fitness. Shortly after you register, you will receive 40 coordinates and instructions. Your goal is to find 20 of them by April 30th, using your GPS device (smartphone). Many free and useful GPS apps are available if you have a smartphone. When you sign up, you will receive an email with instructions to help you get started. You will also receive informative emails with tips for enjoying the great outdoors during the event period.

All the coordinates are near Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and Palmer.
Registration Fee
$25 (all proceeds go to the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group)

How to track your hike in Gaia app
How to share (import and export) your track with your friends
What you will get
All the participants will receive informative emails to travel safely in the backcountry.(weather, communication, gear)
All the finishers will earn stickers.
There will also be door prizes.
