Ken Teune Memorial Stampede

Both races, the 1 mile and 5K will begin at the Ketchikan Fire Department, 70 Bawden Street, Ketchikan. 

1 MILE:  Start at the Ketchikan Fire Department, curve right onto the sidewalk of Spruce Mill Way, continuing to the dock.  At Berth 1 turn left onto the dock, heading south to the marked turn around (cone and/or volunteer), head back north on the dock to the Berth 3 planter box, turn around and make your way back down the dock, left onto Spruce Mill Way and curving left to the finish line in front of the Fire Department.  Click on 1 Mile Race Route above to reach the map.

For the safety of all participants, we ask for racers to use sidewalks and use general caution around traffic.  KRC will monitor the street crossing (Spruce Mill Way/Main Street) for the 1 mile route with a volunteer as well as the turn around area at Berth 3. Cones and "Runners in the Road" signs will be placed along each route to guide participants and warn drivers.  

Pets are not allowed to participate in this event.  Strollers are strongly discouraged as they also pose a safety risk for participants on the race course.

5K:  Start at the Ketchikan Fire Department, turn left and through the Federal Building parking lot to Stedman Street. Turn right onto Stedman Street, continuing past Doyon's Landing to the marked turn around (cone and/or volunteer.)  Continue back on the path and Stedman Street for the return, retracing the route until reaching the Federal Building. Continuing on Stedman St AROUND the Federal Building to Mill Street, turning left on Bawden Street to the finish line in front of the Fire Department.  There will be one aid station before Doyon's Landing with water available around mile 1.25 on the way out and 1.75 on the return.  Click on the section title 5K Race Route above to reach the course map.

ONLINE registration will be open until Wednesday April 3rd at 11:59 p.m.  

IN PERSON registration will be available at the Borough Recreation Center Friday April 5th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. 

AND Saturday morning at the Ketchikan Fire Department before the race from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
