  • Both Individuals Participants and relay-teams are welcome!
  • Race start time is 7:30am.  Cutoff times will be enforce: athletes must start the bike portion by 7:30am and the run portion by 9:30am.
  • We will be swimming in the competition pool again this year.
New  this year: the bike course will be extended from approximately 7 miles to approximately 8 miles.

  • Registration will close Sunday August 3, 2025 or when registrations reach 450 cyclists.

Helpful Tips:

  • In this race morning video the Race Director walks you through race morning, parking, and spectator information.
In this transition and course instruction video the Transition and Course Coordinators walk you through what to do in transition and what to expect on the course.
  • Watch this full course video from 2023 to be fully prepared!  Note that each year there may be slight changes to the course or setup to accommodate conditions.
  • Reminder that athletes will enter the pool by swim time (shortest to longest) to help manage congestion. Please be as accurate as possible with your swim time; you will have an opportunity to adjust your swim time closer to race day.  It is acceptable to stop and hold the side or the rope, to stop and rest at each end, and to use a snorkel.  If you feel you will stop during the swim, please factor that into your swim time. There will be lifeguards and volunteers around the pool.  The practice swim will be a great opportunity to determine an appropriate time!
  • Need help training?  Fleet Feet's Tri-101 program kicks off on May 13 and is designed to have you race ready for the Huntsville Sprint Tri.  Sign up and get tips from some great triathletes and access to group training sessions!

- GENERAL RACE LAYOUT -

-

Please note that parking is on the south side of the venue.  The entrance to the Aquatic Center will be closed to traffic.  All athletes and spectators should navigate to 2223 Drake Avenue SW to access parking, then take your gear up the west side of the aquatic center to the check-in area.

- TRANSITION -

-

Bikes will be racked according to race number.  Positions will alternate sides of the rack. Relay teams will have a special area in transition.

Once transition is closed please avoid crossing the timing mats unless entering and exiting as part of the race.  Relay team members should remove their chip after completing their leg of the race to avoid corrupting the timing data.

Rack your bike by the seat, with the front wheel on the same side as your race  number.  Place your gear neatly and compactly on the 'rider's left side' of your bike.

- SWIM -

-

Athletes will enter the pool two at a time (sit or jump - no diving!) by race number.  Race numbers are assigned by estimated swim time, with fastest swimmers first to minimize congestion.

Athletes may rest on the side, rope, or at the end of the lane, but may not pull themselves along the rope or side.

While snorkels are allowed, no floatation assistance or swim fins are allowed.

- BIKE -

-

The bike course is on public roads.  Most of the course follows a lane closed to traffic via cones.  A short portion of the course is through a residential area (with no coned lane).

Please stay to the right unless passing.  Be aware of your surroundings and of traffic.  Watch course marking for upcoming turns - there is a sharp u-turn at one point in the course.

If riding with smaller children stay behind them - do not ride next to anyone unless passing

* We are attempting to extend the bike course this year - if our extension(s) are approved the bike course will extend to almost 9 miles.  One of our proposals would remove the sharp u-turn on Triana Boulevard.

- RUN -

-

The run course is a combination of cross-country, gravel road, and greenway.  Don't miss the left turn at the aid station to do the greenway out and back!

There is one aid station sponsored by Fleet Feet with water and Powerade that athletes will pass twice on the route.
