The logistics for ALMAGeddon are a bit complicated. An up and back course, with unknown weather and snow conditions.

The event has basically 5 transition/aid station areas that all need to be staffed by volunteers.

• T-1 is located at the base of the Paris Mill Hill on Buckskin Road. Volunteers will have our event truck to transport gear and can stay warm and cozy in the truck when not assisting athletes.
• T-2 is up Windy Ridge Road and is located at the gate before the steep road up to the Bristlecone Trailhead. Its exposed and could be cold. Volunteers here need to be prepared for cold weather. If possible we will transport a small propane heater to T-2 along with Aid Station supplies
• Turn Around: The race turn around is the parking lot at the Bristle Cone trailhead. We will also have aid station supplies up here and will likely need a snow mobile to help carry the gear (and mayvbe volunteers) up. In ap erfect world the volunteers at T-2 and the Turnaround are also our snowmobile drivers so if need be we can extract athletes who may not be able to continue. It will be chilly up at the turn around as well.
• T-2 is also T-3. Athletes will return from their snowshoe up to the trailhead, switch to skis and head back down to Buckskin Road where their bikes are.

The athlete's day will start at packet pickup where they will recieve the bib numbers, stickers for their skis and gear. They will load their gear into the staff truck before 9:30 am. The gear truck will leave promptly at 9:30 to transport gear up to T-1 before the event.

Our biggest need are volunteers with snowmobiles or ATV's capable of travelling on snow. If you have this equipemtn please make a note in the sitgn up comments.

Volunteers receive a event beanie AND a event hoodie valued at $50 (Please let us know your size in the comment box)! We will also feed you after your shift - we literally could not host this event without you!!

We will be hosting a mandatory volunteer meeting on Thursday evening, January 15th at 6:00 PM in the North Room of Town Hall. We will feed you there too :)
