MAY IS BRAIN CANCER/TUMOR AWARENESS MONTH  JOIN US FOR The 4TH ANNUAL 

REGISTER BY APRIL 24TH 11:59PM  TO GUARANTEE A SHIRT

GO GRAY IN MAY 5K  Presented by Going Gray for Julie a 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization.   The race will include a 5K Run, 5K Walk, 5K Wheelchair, Kids 5K divisions. Again this year there will be a virtual race.

  The mission of Going Gray for Julie is to increase brain cancer awareness and raise funds for brain cancer research in Arkansas.Julie was diagnosed with Grade4 Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Cancer, or GBM in December2013. She has surpassed the 5 year mark. She continues to fight everyday and wants to encourage all diagnosed with Brain Cancer to KEEP FIGHTING.  In the 5 years since her diagnoses she has met too many people with Brain  Cancer/tumors.there are so many children battling brain Cancer.     We need to help find a cure.  

 

The race course is the original Morrilton Pig Out 5K course.  Race starts at the Downtown Church of Christ

 

If you register AFTER 4/24  or the day of the Race: if we have any race shirts left you may check after the race is complete to see if there are any remaining shirts.  They will be on a first come basis for sizes. Also if you need to exchange size you may also check after the race is completed.First come Basis. Race will begin at the Downtown Church of Christ parking lot at 100 West Church Street and ends at the Conway County Courthouse, 117 South Moose Street. Race Packets may be picked up Friday,May 17 at the Downtown Church of Christ Family Life Center from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm or starting at 6:30 am before the race, also in the Family Life Center. Enter from rear entrance . Virtual Racers may have their shirts mailed to them for a fee 3-4 weeks after the race. Timing will be done by

JMAX Race Timing Service with chip timers in the bibs. 

THIS YEAR WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IS TEAMING UP WITH US!!! This will help spread the word about the race to people in all parts of the state.  Brain Cancer/Tumors are now the #1 cancer-causing death in children under 18.  Working together with Children's Hospital we can help make a difference. They have a top-notch Brain Cancer Research Department working on a cure by participating in trials.  With the hope of soon doing their own independent trials

BRAIN CANCER FACTS:

Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)  a grade 4 brain cancer. The average survival time is 12-18 months - only 25% of GBM patients survive more than one year, and only 5% of patients survive more than five years. There are over 200 different types of brain cancer.
