Description

October 11, 2021 Update: Click here for a pre-race email to all registrants, with race details, weekend schedule, and more.

October 9, 2021 Update: We've reached 700 registrants, so we've now sold out of race medals.   Don't worry, though, you can still register for the TMC 15k or the 5k out at the world-famous Biosphere 2.   All registrants after October 9th will receive a long-sleeve technical shirt and free entry into the Biosphere 2, but souvenir race medallions may be available on a first-come, first-served basis after the race.   We also still have room for the SAR FitKidz event, a free, family-friendly mile run/walk sponsored by Cox Communications.

We're super excited about the new location for this popular Tucson race -- and the new distance.  Due to Downtown construction, we're staging this year's race at the world-famous Biosphere 2.  Check out https://biosphere2.org for all the details on this beautiful location at 32540 Biosphere Road, in Oracle, Arizona, nestled in the western foothills of the majestic Catalina Mountains.

NOTE: the registrants for the inaugural EarthDay 5k that was postponed back in 2020 are all re-registered in this event for the "Biosphere 2 5k Run/Walk"

Interested in Registering? Three Distances to Choose From:

* TMC 15k.  We've crafted a beautiful 9.3 mile race that includes Biosphere Road and Biosphere 2 property that guests don't normally get to see.

* Biosphere 2 5k Run/Walk: Our 5k has partnered with the previously-cancelled EarthDay 5k, and will be a hilly road course on the grounds of the Biosphere 2.

* Cox Family Mile, a SAR FitKidz event: our free family one mile will cover an out and back on the grounds of Biosphere 2.

For the past decade, the TMC Get Moving Tucson Half-Marathon has been Tucson's most popular urban half-marathon event, with the TMC Half-Marathon, the Tucson Lifestyle 5k Run/Walk, and the Cox Charities Free FitKidz Mile for children 12-and-under.  Produced by Run Tucson, TMC Get Moving Tucson has included multiple routes, live music, a vendor expo, children's activities, jumping castles, food trucks, breakfast after-party, and more.  For 2021, we have partnered with the renowned BIOSPHERE 2 to bring the event to this beautiful setting among the thrilling geodesic structures of the Biosphere 2.

Beneficiaries: This will be the third race of the 2021 Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown.  Proceeds will benefit Team Hoyt Arizona, the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation, the Southern Arizona Roadrunners, and Step up to Justice.  You can donate via the Donate button on the menu bar.

We will use this race page, email, and social media channels to provide updated information as we learn more.  For questions or to offer suggestions, contact Randy at randy@runtucson.net.
