Virtual 5K for Haitian Education
Chances for Children invites you to participate in our 6th Annual virtual 5K to support our students in Haiti and help them continue to receive a quality and stable education!
Participate in our 5K however you want! Walk, run, bike, rollerblade, get creative!
We want to get our community to gather (virtually) and complete 3.1 miles to help our students thrive in the classroom.
Education in Haiti
Haiti has no public (free) education system. Low literacy rates, graduation percentages, and increasing poverty can be attributed to the lack of access to education. Chances for Children aims to empower the young people in Haiti through providing them the opportunity to go to school. In five rural areas, over 500 students have had the opportunity to challenge and grow themselves academically. By employing local teachers, C4C is empowering current and future Haitian generations.
Your participation in the Run for Haitian Education Virtual 5k ensures that we can continue to provide a quality and stable education to these kids in the rural villages.
Students
C4C ensures a stable and quality education to her 500 kids at our 5 schools. Earning their education empowers our students to create a new future for themselves and their community. They desire to become doctors, lawyers, nurses, policemen, and teachers!
Teachers
In the Summer of 2019 we began our work with P4H, a local Haitian non-profit, to provide proper training for 19 teachers to better prepare them in the classroom. We have expanded and now employ 26 teachers across our 5 schools. C4C provides steady income and opportunity for the teachers and their families in our communities
