Education in Haiti

Haiti has no public (free) education system. Low literacy rates, graduation percentages, and increasing poverty can be attributed to the lack of access to education. Chances for Children aims to empower the young people in Haiti through providing them the opportunity to go to school. In four rural areas, over 400 students have had the opportunity to challenge and grow themselves academically. By employing local teachers, C4C is empowering curent and future Haitian generations.

Since 2017, C4C has provided an education for over 400 students in four of our rural areas (Bel Anse, Caporale, Latapi, and Hatte Chevereau). Earning their education empowers our students to create a new future for themselves. They desire to become doctors, lawyers, nurses, policemen, and teachers!

C4C employs 19 teachers at our four schools. In the Summer of 2019 we began our work with P4H, a local Haitian non-profit, to provide proper training to aid them in the classroom. C4C provides steady income and opportunity for the teachers in our communities
