We're looking forward to welcoming spring with you!

Kick off your spring at Spring Fever on March 23 in Golden, CO! Here's all the details that you need for a safe and fun event, please read them all the way through as there are some very important notes about the course and venue!

Be prepared

  • The forecast next week looks temperate with occasional light snow that should melt during the day. However, given that this event takes place during Colorado's snow season, please stay closely updated this week
  • We will hold the event, snow or shine, unless roads are closed due to weather
  • We recommend monitoring the weather yourself, our favorite sources are National Weather Service and Weather Underground
  • Trail conditions will be posted on our social media Saturday afternoon, after we mark the course
  • If the weather doesn't align with your training goals or preferred running conditions, you can transfer to a virtual event. However, this transfer must be completed by the website's deadline to avoid extra shipping fees
  • Please make sure you have reviewed the updated course map and aid station details (revised as of February 15) as construction required changes to the course route (a neighborhood detour) and aid station spacing (3-mile gap between aid 1 and 5 up and over the Blunn Reservoir)
  • Note that there are no restrictions on the use of hydration vests or other equipment you would like to use on the course

Be safe on course

  • For half marathon, while running through the neighborhood detour, you'll cross three lightly trafficked streets. Please be cautious at these crossings and ensure any approaching vehicles are aware of your presence
  • There will not be any road closures, so make sure you stay on the sidewalk or bike lane when running along a main road (you may choose to run in the street near the shoulder when running the neighborhood detour)
  • Practice standard trail etiquette on this popular trail and be particularly mindful of cyclists when passing
  • Ensure your bib is always visible and on your front, this is for your on-course safety and also for identifying photographs of you on course
  • Make sure you are familiar with your course and aid stations. You can view and download the course from our course details page. We have water, Gu energy gels, Gatorade, and Superganix CBD Relief Balm at every aid station
  • 10K and half marathon: make sure to grab fluids and nutrition on your second pass of Aid 1, as you leave the Ralston Creek Trail dogleg. As a reminder, there is a 3-mile gap between this aid station and the next one
  • We have bright green course signs with blue arrows, course markings on the ground with bright green tape, and course volunteers at key locations to help guide you. Unless there's a sign telling you to turn, never turn
  • We have orange discs to block where you shouldn't go. Don't go through, around, over, or past any orange disc, or you will be off-course
  • You can drop items at any aid station, but only items dropped off at your first pass of your first aid station will be guaranteed to be returned to the gear check tent before you finish. If you drop items at any other aid station, the items may not be returned to gear check until the end of the event (est. 1p)
