2023 BTA Summer Junior Camp – 3 - 7 July 2023 

Is your junior triathlete looking to take their skills to the next level? Join us at our upcoming triathlon camp led by Cameron de ste Croix, a former Trihedz athlete and seasoned triathlon coach, along with a team of experienced coaches. With our coaches' wealth of expertise, you can expect a fun, safe and progressive camp for your young athlete. 

Assisting with organizing the camp are Neil de ste Croix and Ian Pilgrim, who have successfully run junior triathlon camps for decades. With their expertise, we're confident this camp will be a fantastic experience for all participants.

The camp is open to all juniors aged 8 and up (no upper age restriction).  The camp will be held at Clearwater Beach and run as a half day camp – from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm each day. The cost for this camp will be $250 for the full five half days.  If there are any participants who can’t make the full camp, it will be possible to participate in whatever days a participant can make at a charge of $50 per day, although to gain the most out of the camp it is preferable for participants to attend the full camp.

There are eligibility criteria for the camp which are set out below, together with details of the camp directors. Spaces will be limited, and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Registration will be on www.racedayworld.com.

 Camp Eligibility Criteria

Get ready to take your triathlon skills to the next level at our upcoming junior triathlon camp, led by the experienced coach, Cameron de ste Croix. As a former Trihedz athlete and seasoned triathlon coach, Cameron brings a wealth of expertise to the table. What's more, with a full lifeguard qualification, including first aid and advanced CPR, you can rest assured that safety is our top priority.

Assisting Cameron are two other veteran coaches, Neil de ste Croix and Ian Pilgrim, who have been organizing and running successful junior triathlon camps for decades. Together, they'll provide personalized guidance and support to help you become the best triathlete you can be.

To be eligible, each participant must:

Be at least 8 years old as of 31 December 2023.
Be able to swim 100 meters in open water without assistance and generally be comfortable in the water;
If not with a swim club must provide evidence of swimming ability through an accredited coach. 
Alternative option; attend a Trihedz session at least once. 
Have participated in at least one triathlon event (Ironkids in June 2023 will count);
Have a road bike and is comfortable riding without assistance (preferably a road bike but mountain bikes are acceptable) (a limited number of road bikes may be available for loan from the BTA for those who do not have road bikes);
Have a can-do attitude and be willing to have some fun.
 

The structure of each day will be:

  • 8.00 - 8.30 am – Drop off at the BTA Headquarters at Clearwater (opposite the Gombey Restaurant)
  • 8:30 – 9:15am – Warm up Stretch
  • 9:15 – 10:30am- Specific focus
  • 10:30-11:00am - Rest/hydration/snacks
  • 11:00 – 12:00am Specific Focus
  • 12:00 – 12:30am Games/Swim
  • 12:30 – 1:00pm Pick Up
