Traditional awards for time:
Top 3 overall Male & Females.
The Top 3 overall masters (40+) Male & Female
Top male and female finishers in the following categories: 14 & under, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 & up. Number of awards in each category will depend upon participant field size.
Monetary awards for Brandywine High School classes - 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023:
The Brandywine High School Bulldog Dash is a fundraiser. The classes are competing to register as many people as possible that will pledge to their class. Friends and family are good targets for recruitment to register for a specific class (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior). Some registrants, alumni and faculty for instances, won't have a specific class allegiance and will pledge their registration to the General Fund.
The class that registers the most participants, after adjusting for relative class size, will be awarded a sizable percentage of the general fund. The exact percentage will depend on the overall success of the Bulldog Dash. If the race is very successful, a percentage of the general fund will be dedicated to a school improvement project. Again, recruiting family, friends and neighbors to register for your class is a legitimate strategy for success in this element of the competition.
Awards for largest number of donors and largest collective donation:
Encourage your family, friends and neighbors to donate to the Dash. The donation page will ask whose name the donation should be under. Just ask them to be sure to check "Other" and put your name.
Awards for Custom Teams:
In addition to the competition to see which class can recruit the most registrations, participants can make their own teams to compete. These teams can be just about anything. Compete for your Brandywine High School sport, school department, your neighborhood, your favorite food, even your family, so have fun!
When registering for a custom team, first check in the list of existing teams to see if your team is there. If not, go ahead and create it.
Teams that register the most participants in their category will be recognized on race day. For example, the sports team with the highest number of registrations or the neighborhood with the highest number of registrations will be recognized. Teams will also get a shout out when team members make the podium for time in their gender/age range.
Unlike the general class registration competition, you are expected to be a member of the group you are joining, so parents, please don't register as a member of your daughter's soccer team :)
