Weather & Safety Policy
Participant safety is our top priority. If threatening weather or dangerous conditions exist on race day, the event may be delayed, altered, or canceled. Brentwood staff, in coordination with City Safety officials and local law enforcement, reserve the right to make all safety decisions.
Less severe conditions may require course modifications or changes to post-race activities to protect participants, volunteers, and the community.
These circumstances fall under “Acts of God” and will not result in refunds or future event credits.
Threatening Conditions May Include:
- Tornado Warning or Watch
- Thunderstorms or Lightning
- Excessive wind and rain
- Other severe weather conditions
- (Or a Zombie Apocalypse — you never know.)
Race Delay or Cancellation
The start may be delayed 30–60 minutes if threatening conditions are present. If conditions persist, the event may be canceled.
If cancellation occurs, no refunds can be issued, as event expenses are incurred in advance. All registered participants will receive email instructions regarding finisher medal distribution.
Authority
The Race Director, in coordination with city officials and law enforcement, has final authority regarding delays, modifications, or cancellation.
