Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K - CHOOSE YOUR OPTION

The 4th annual Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K has been RESCHEDULED to Sunday, March 28, 2021. We are so grateful for your patience and understanding during this global health crisis. Because the CDC mentioned the COVID-19 might not be under control for several months, we are playing it safe and postponing to March 2021.

We are offering current Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K participants (4) OPTIONS:

1. Run the Race in 2021 
2. Go Virtual 
3. Receive a Pair of ZULU Wearable Bluetooth Speakers & Your Race Shirt 
4. Donate (tax deductible) to Surf Camp for Children with Special Needs

OPTION 1: RUN THE RACE IN 2021 

Run with us on Sunday, March 28, 2021! If you paid for bib mailing or extra swag, that will also be transferred to 2021. 

OPTION 2: GO VIRTUAL 

Take on our INTERACTIVE Virtual Challenge on STRAVA! You can run the distance you registered for on your own and claim your race shirt, medal and swag! Your VIRTUAL PACKAGE will be shipped at no charge by 4/4/2020 and you'll have until August 31, 2020 to complete the race on your own time and location! You can use Strava, MapMyRun, Garmin or any of the other fitness apps for your results. Prizes for BEST PHOTOS to #EncinitasHalfVirtual

OPTION 4: DONATE YOUR ENTRY FEE - Tax deductible donation

The Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K is the main fundraiser for the Surfing Madonna Oceans Project 501c3 nonprofit. Race proceeds have helped donate over $600,000 to life-changing programs, such as our annual Surf Camp for Children with Special Needs. To see the full list of beneficiaries and programs: Click here

If you decide to donate your entry fee to these programs, you will receive a donor package in the mail with a tax deductible receipt letter (you may write off your full entry fee from the taxes you owe) for your records as well as a "Save the Ocean" Surfing Madonna bumper sticker (very popular in Encinitas).

LEGACY & CHALLENGER SERIES:

• If you are a LEGACY Runner, your status will carry over to 2021 and your 4th Year Legacy Beach Towel will be available at Packet Pick Up in March 2021.
• If you are a CHALLENGER SERIES runner, your status will carry over to 2021 and you'll receive your 2020 Challenger Series Medal at the Finish Line of the 2021 race

REFUNDS: Encinitas Half Marathon & 5K does not offer registration refunds.  At the time of registration, every participant signed that they understood and agreed to the strict No Refund Policy.  We are still responsible for the 2020 race costs (permits, race shirts, medals, traffic control plans, insurance, staff, event planning for 12 months, etc), despite the State & County Health Agencies banning events over 250 people.
