Description
Runners for Public Lands (RPL) envisions a world in which everyone has access to healthy, runnable landscapes. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers runners to protect public lands and expand access to nature for all.
We are excited to partner with the Nature Collective (formerly the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy) and the Coastal Run Club to present the 2025 Trail Work Series in North San Diego County. This brings our local community of runners together to learn about and care for the living landscapes we run with. Through repetitive, hands-on service events with an educational component, we can share ecological values and create strong connections that inspire runners to care for the places they love.
This 2025 San Diego Trail Work Series will include 4 independent trail work events - one per calendar quarter. Each event will include a short and unique educational component related to the location and project. Each event will provide some giveaways and refreshments from our partners including our title sponsor Nomadix as well as RPL's brand coalition partners Athletic Brewing, HOKA, GU Energy, Fractel, On Running, and Kahtoola!
Register today to join us at the Nature Collective's Sienna Canyon/Manchester Site on Saturday, March 22nd from 8:45am - 12pm for a Habitat Restoration project that includes planting, watering and weeding. Founded in 1987, the nonprofit Nature Collective restores habitats across San Diego County, improving water and wildlife diversity. They educate future generations on protecting natural environments and watersheds. Their conservation efforts support ecosystem balance, control invasive species, and improve human health through open spaces. By removing invasive species and planting and nurturing native ones, you help restore habitats for endangered wildlife, making a lasting impact.
Registration for all later events will become available closer to each event. Please note that the days and times of all events are subject to change based on the discretion of the land managers, current conditions, and weather. We will keep everyone informed through the Runners for Public Lands San Diego Strava Club and direct emails to registrants.
