The Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise is ecstatic to announce that our full Firecracker race is back for 2024.  That means all three courses will be available - 10K, 5K, and a Kid's 1K Fun Run will be hosted at Harvey West Park.

Its all here and waiting for just for you!  The race is always held on July 4th in the morning!  What a great way to kick off a holiday celebration of our nation's Independence Day.

Runners on the 10K will be treated the the challenging "Thrill of the Hill" in Pogonip Park before topping out on the Spring Trail that winds through the beautiful meadow by UCSC before dropping down into the neighborhoods before returning to Harvey West Park.

5K Runners will face a flat and fast course contained completely in the Harvey West Business Park Area.  The 5K course is Stroller, ADA and Wheelchair accessible.

Click on the Course Map tab above to see maps for all three courses.

Everyone ends up in beautiful Harvey West Park for great music, a post-race gourmet hot dog bar and awards.  You don't want to miss this!

Refer a Runner!  When you register you will have an option to refer 5 people - friends or family.  If those people all register for the race will get an automatic refund on your registration. Total referrals for the 5K and 10K is a $10 refund and for the 1K it is a $5 refund.  So what are you waiting for - Pay it Forward and claim your refunds.

This Year's Race Supports Veteran Surf Alliance

Veteran Surf Alliance is a Santa Cruz based  501(c)3 non-profit that creates fellowship opportunities and creates a spirit of community among veterans through surfing.  The objective is to ease the transition between military service and civilian life through teaching, coaching, and mentoring.  Members of the alliance provide support including equipment, classes, and community events while creating the same sense of camaraderie that veterans experience while serving in the military.

We'd like to thank all of our fantastic sponsors for your support.
