Firecracker is back and in-person with a few changes.
The recent opening of California and the removal of many of the social distancing requirements that were put in place at the time we submitted out permit requests means that we now have an opportunity to open up the race. We are removing the social distancing time slots that permitted 30 people every 10 minutes that was previously in place for this event. We will now have two separate scenarios for a start and an open start for a longer period of time:
Basically, we are now able to provide the best of both worlds – a group start for people who want to run together and a socially distanced start for those who don’t want to start with the larger group. But we do have a few changes for this year
We know it's different. We know it's not optimal. The silver lining is that you get to do a live race with official start and finish times! Each finisher gets a swag bag that will contain a dry-release running cap, a collapsible water bottle, finisher medal and a post-race snack in their bag.
We also want to thank everyone for their support and patience as things have been changing daily in our efforts to put this race together this year.
