You can still celebrate the biggest summer holiday with a run or walk with your family and a few good friends. Then you won't have any guilt while doing that holiday BBQ and popping a cold one while waiting for the fireworks in front of your TV this year!
We will still have all three distances available for the virtual event. Prices will be adjusted for the event as follows:
You don't have to run on the 4th of July either. Registration for all three distances will close on July 14. The virtual results uploads for each distance will be available from July 1 through July 31. Think about it - you can include Canada Day and Bastille Day as holidays for your run too if for some reason you can't run on the 4th of July. You can also do a run every day if you want and upload your time every day. Then at the end you can go in and pick your PR as the time you want to keep posted on the results.
Each participant who posts a time for their event will be able to print a customized finisher certificate of their time. We will be mailing a customized Rotary social-distancing face mask and a race number to all pre-registered participants in mid June. We will be mailing out bibs on an ongoing basis until July 14. So if you don't have yours right away you can still do your run and upload your results once you are officially registered (all bib numbers are automatically assigned when you register) and your official bib and face mask will arrive in the mail a few days later.
This is an important event for our Rotary Club supporting some major beneficiaries, Teen Kitchen and the Red Cross of the Central Coast, as well as additional local charities and grants. We hope you will register for the virtual event and embrace the situation in which we all find ourselves social distancing and sheltering in place. Use your exercise time to go out and run or walk a 5k or 10k, or take your kids on a 1K around the neighborhood knowing that your registration fees and optional donations will be used wisely and distributed locally. Remember - Rotary gives 100% - so we are going to try and keep the costs down this year in order to maximize our charitable giving.
If you had signed up to participate in the Run Santa Cruz series your points in this race will be counted towards those awards with validated results.
If you're part of a Rotary Caldwell Cup Team we'll count your event towards your club points.
If you are already registered for this race you will receiving an email with options to stay in the virtual race, defer, or donate your entry feel. All registration screens have been adjusted to reflect the new pricing.
