Lainie's Legacy Rally in the Valley

Hello Friends, 

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in our third annual Lainie’s Legacy Rally in the Valley Walk on Saturday, May 4th honoring our beloved friend Lainie Zuckerman.  Lainie lost her six month courageous battle to Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer on May 2, 2021 at the young age of 53.

The walk we will be doing is the exact walk that Lainie and her husband Jay took every day with their dog Marco!  Many of us witnessed Lainie on her daily walk wearing her floppy hat, an iced coffee in one hand and a huge smile on her face as she walked down Ventura Blvd.  Let's walk a of couple miles in Lainie’s footsteps! 

Last year we were excited to have created Lainie’s Legacy, a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation we have formed in Lainie’s honor.  Cancer is expensive and many cancer victims struggle with everyday expenses on top of expensive medical costs.   Our goal is to give direct financial assistance and help cancer victims with daily living expenses from groceries to gas money, utility bills to mortgage payments.  Cholangiocarcinoma  is a very aggressive form of Bile Duct Cancer affecting 10,000 people a year with a survival rate of 2% at 5 years.  We plan to raise awareness, helping to fund research and test trials to fight this aggressive cancer.  

Nothing would make Lainie happier than to have her family, friends and the many people whose lives she touched support cancer patients and their families financially so they don’t have to choose between paying for treatment or paying their rent.   Lainie loved life more than anyone we know and Jay, Ethan, Jenna and Marco were the light of Lainie’s life.

The walk will start promptly at 9:00 am Saturday May 4th, 2024. Check -in will start at 8:15 am.  Please meet at 4155 Davana Road, Sherman Oaks.  We will be walking from Lainie’s house to the corner of Coldwater Canyon/Ventura Blvd. and back to the starting point.
