Difficult times call for difficult decisions. Today we made the decision, in order to keep our our beloved community, state and nation as safe as possible, to change this years Loop The Lagoon to a virtual event.
A virtual race can be run (or walked!) anytime and anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill. Our timeline for completing the race will be between the dates May 2nd to May 8th. We accept completions on the honor system, so you can track your distance and time however you like. The most accurate way to do this is by using a Running GPS watch, but there are also several free smartphone apps available for iPhones and Android devices that you may be interested in, here are just a few!
Then, send us a picture showing you finished your distance either my email at email@example.com or post your finish line photo, with time, on our closed Facebook group Virtual Loop 2020 (you need to ask to be in the group).
Upon completion you will be rewarded with a Finishers medal, sponsored by Travis Credit Union, which you can either pick up at Fleet Feet in downtown Vacaville or have mailed directly to your home.
I know this is disappointing for many, but again we feel it is in the best interest of our community as a whole. Next year Loop will be bigger and better, but in the meantime put on your exercise shoes on May 2nd and don't forget half of your entry goes to YOUR Vacaville school!
