Due to COVID-19, it is our responsibility to protect the health and safety of our runners, volunteers, and host communities. Therefore Visalia Emergency Aid Council (VEAC) has decided to take our 16th Annual “Race Against Hunger” virtual!
Visalia Emergency Aid Council’s (VEAC) “Race Against Hunger” is on the most thankful day of the year! Leaves are changing colors, weather is cooling down, and yes, the perfect running/walking weather arrives.
Our 16th Annual “Race Against Hunger” is the largest 5K run in the Central Valley. Our firm belief that no child should go to bed hungry has fueled our passion for over 89 years. VEAC’s Food Pantry assures our community we will be here to provide supplemental, nutritious groceries for families with children, (2500) seniors and veterans during the holiday season. Step-by-step this race is giving back to its community!
What to Do:
1. Register for the Virtual 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk, or the Tough Turkey Competition.
2. Pick up your race packet.
3. Run or walk any time between Thanksgiving Morning, November 26th, 2020 through Sunday, November 29th.
3. Submit your time here after you complete your race.
4. Don't forget to share your photo on social media and use #veacturkeytrot so the entire community can see! There will also be a prize for the best pictures!
A virtual race is a race that can be run or walked from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk in your own neighborhood, at a local park, on a trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. You get to run at your own pace and with family or friends.
Complete the Visalia Emergency Aid Council’s "Race Against Hunger" between November 26th and 29th and post your results online to see how you stack up against friends and family.
3.1 miles too easy for you? Add on the pumpkin option and prepare for an extra challenge! Grab a pumpkin, crush out your 3.1 miles, and earn a scarf in addition to your normal race swag for completing the Tough Turkey Challange!
While not a requirement by any means, share your photo at #veacturkeytrot when you post any photos on social media so the entire community can see! There will also be a prize for the best Tough Turkey picture!
In accordance with CDC Guidelines Visalia Emergency Aid Food Pantry will offer a drive through service for packet pickup.
Please stay in your car and bring your race confirmation email with barcode for a quick packet pickup!
