Let's Make An Impact!
All Challengers Support Local Food Banks and Hunger Relief Programs

Donations support local food banks and hunger relief programs to help people who are in dire need of food. Before Covid-19, 1 in 9 Americans struggled with food insecurity. As a result of Covid-19, food insecurity is expected to double worldwide. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 to support local programs with Feeding Colorado as the primary beneficiary.  100% of all donations go directly to selected charities.

Feeding Colorado Partners

Weld Food Bank works to educate the public about the nature of hunger and poverty. We recognize the need for emergency and supplemental food programs and of other non-profit organizations that meet the critical needs of low-income families. When we provide our services we strive to do so with compassion and respect for the dignity of the people seeking food assistance. Last year we provided over 13.6 million pounds of food to the hungry in Weld County.

We serve metro Denver, the Western Slope, and parts of northern Colorado to provide food to more than 600 hunger-relief programs. Food Bank of the Rockies’ warehouse is the central distribution program providing food and essentials to more than 600 hunger-relief programs in northern Colorado including metropolitan Denver, the eastern Plains and western Slope as well as the entire state of Wyoming.

At Care and Share Food Bank, we believe that no one should go hungry. Every day, we provide food to our partner food pantries and meal sites across Southern Colorado to serve our neighbors in need because well-fed communities are better for us all. Care and Share exists to ensure that the one in eight Southern Coloradans at risk of hunger have access to enough healthy and nutritious food to thrive.

At the Food Bank for Larimer County, we believe no one should be hungry. Our dream is to deliver health, hope and humanity to stabilize the lives of our clients and build a vibrant community. We are a private non-profit organization and the only Feeding America clearinghouse for donated food in our county. Each year, we provide food to an estimated 37,500 people in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs.

Community Food Share is a food bank fighting hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties by providing access to fresh, nutritious food through local partners and its onsite and mobile pantries.

What Is Food Insecurity?

What is food insecurity?

Food insecurity describes a household’s inability to provide enough food for every person to live an active, healthy life. Food insecurity is one way we can measure and assess the risk of hunger. In the United States currently, one in nine people struggle with hunger.

What causes food insecurity?

One "bad month" can be enough to plunge a household into food insecurity. Layoffs at work, unexpected car maintenance or an accident on the job can suddenly force a family to choose between buying food and paying bills. A global pandemic only heightens this vulnerability.

That’s why many working families, including thousands of households who don’t qualify for federal nutrition assistance, depend on the Feeding America network of food banks to help make ends meet during difficult times. The Feeding America network serves nearly every community in the United States, helping more than more than 40 million people — including 12 million children and 7 million seniors.
