Course conditions update

Hi everyone, just got back from marking the course early this morning and here were the conditions we saw on course. **Disclaimer: this is the course that we saw between 7 and 10 am, rains later on Friday or dry conditions could change the course some. See pics on Instagram

TL:DR: half marathon athletes shouldn't wear their nice running shoes, you might not see many mile markers.

The big news is, that the soft surface trail along the Fairmont Canal, part of the back side of the loop for half marathon athletes, does have squishy mud and puddles (1st pic). Most can be avoided by going in the grass shoulders, but in some cases, the grass also has some mud. So half marathon athletes have the possibility of getting their shoes a little dirty. At many spots along the course, the rain has caused the natural grasses to really grow (pic 2). It will be no problem for you to see directional signs, but you might not be able to see our mile markers (we won't put them up if they're lost in the grasses). On the good news front, the section of soft surface in the detour that 10K and half marathon athletes take is wonderfully packed, no mud at all.
