Description

Welcome to the MPower Youth Running Festival, sponsored by Farmington Recreation!

Our kids-only races offer youth ages 2-14 an opportunity to experience the joys of road racing, without all of those tall people blocking the view! We have a distance for everyone: from the 0.18-mile Fun Run, to the timed 1-Mile, to the full 5K. These courses are closed to vehicular traffic and are extremely spectator friendly.

**Please note: Our race location has changed due to construction. Our new location will be West Woods Upper Elementary School**

1-Mile: Open to boys and girls ages 5-14. This race is a great option for anyone who wants to race but prefers a shorter distance. Trophies will be awarded to the Top-3 male and female finishers in each age group: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14.

Fun Run (0.18 miles): Younger kids ages 2-8 can get in on the fun with a 0.18-mile run around the athletic fields in front of their adoring fans.

Mentor Runners

Local high school runners will be on hand to serve as mentor runners for our 5K and 1-mile races. These volunteers will run with the kids, keeping them company and encouraging them throughout the race.

Swag

All runners will receive an MPower bag, finisher's medal, bottle of water and individually wrapped snacks.

Spectators

This is an excellent spectator course with multiple opportunities to see and cheer for runners throughout the race.

Timing

All races will be timed using professional chip timing. Results will be available online at the conclusion of the race.

Rain Date

We will run this race rain or shine. If the forecast calls for thunderstorms or severe weather, we will either try to adjust the starting times to avoid the worst weather (even if that means running in the afternoon), or we will postpone the event to Sunday, November 19. Let's just hope for nice, sunny weather though!
