We do understand that some siblings in different age groups may wish to run together, and we are happy to accommodate families. If you wish for your child to run in a 5K that does not correspond with their age, please understand that they will not be eligible for one of the age group Top-3 finisher trophies, regardless of finishing time.
5K (3.1-miles): Open to boys and girls ages 6-14, the 5K is 2 loops around the race course with an exciting finish on the track! Trophies will be awarded to the Top-3 male and female finishers in each age group: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14.
Fun Run (1.5 miles): This run is a great option for anyone who wants to experience race day, but may not feel quite ready for the full 5K. This race is open to boys and girls ages 5-14
When registering for the 5K, you will be asked to select your starting corral. You should make this selection based on the age of the runner. We do understand that some siblings in different age groups may wish to run together, and we are happy to accommodate families. If you wish for your child to run in a corral that does not correspond with their age, please understand that they will not be eligible for one of the age group Top-3 finisher trophies, regardless of finishing time.
Each race will have 2-3 wave starts to minimize course congestion.
Local high school runners will be on hand to serve as mentor runners for our races. These volunteers with run with the kids, keeping them company and encouraging them throughout the race.
All runners will receive an MPower bag, finisher's medal, bottle of water and individually wrapped snacks.
This is an excellent spectator course with multiple opportunities to see and cheer for runners throughout the race. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out across the Farmington High School Campus.
Due to the town's COVID guidelines, we will not be offering a water stop on the course. All runners will be provided with a bottle of water at the end of the race. If you feel your child needs water during the race, you may provide it from the sidelines using a water bottle from home. Please be sure to discard any trash in the appropriate bins!
All races will be timed using professional chip timing. Results will be available online at the conclusion of the race. Your time won't start until you cross the starting line, so don't worry if you are in wave 2 or 3 of your race. Your time will be accurate!
We will run this race rain or or shine. If the forecast calls for thunderstorms or severe weather, we will either try to adjust the starting times to avoid the worst weather, or we will postpone the event to Sunday, June 20. Let's just hope for nice, sunny weather though!
