Join Ridgefield Running Company this summer to train for the

BGCR Turkey Trot OR ANY fall 5k!

*New formats, plans, and times this year!*

If you consider yourself a total newbie or someone with a little more experience that would like grow and improve, this program is for you. Group training is offered 2x or 1x per week, with your choice of 3 time slots. We use a gentle program that gradually increases walk-run intervals. You'll buildup to finish 3.1 miles with a fist in the air and a smile on your face.


For just $89 (meet 2x week) or $59 (meet 1x week), you will receive:

Sign up for the Running Rookie/Newbie training program if you have never run before, or there's been a very long time since you've run regularly. Prerequisite: In order to have success with this program, you must be able to walk briskly for one hour, 3 times per week minimum, OR you must be in a regular aerobic exercise program (spin, kickboxing, aerobic classes, etc.) leading up to the start of this program.

Sign up for the Beginner program if you have some running under your belt. By that, we mean that you've completed a 5k in the past 6 months and have been running somewhat regularly leading up to the start of the program...OR you are a fairly regular runner coming back from an injury or illness. Prerequisite: The first week of the program you MUST be able to run at an easy, conversational pace for 2 minutes straight (any pace).

PLEASE NOTE THAT REGISTRATION FOR THE Turkey Trot IS SEPARATE and will open on October. Click here to register for the race. 

  • Most sessions will run approximately 1 hour. Plan to be at the session a couple of minutes early to sign in as we will leave promptly at the scheduled time.
  • No headphones, pets, or strollers allowed for safety reasons.
  • If you are running on Mondays, you will need a reflective vest or other garment that will make you visible to traffic.
  • You will receive a copy of the training program in a separate email after signing up.
  • We run in any weather except thunder or ice storms. You will be notified via email if there is a weather cancellation.
