Important Race Day Guidelines

• Start Time: 8:15 AM sharp for both the 5-Mile Race and 2.6-Mile Walk.
• Strollers & Baby Joggers: Permitted strictly in the 2.6-Mile Walk only. For participant safety, wheeled devices and strollers are strictly prohibited in the 5-Mile Race.
• Dogs: Permitted on a short leash in the 2.6-Mile Walk only; no pets allowed in the 5-Mile Race.
• Parking: Parking is available at the Southport Train Station (East & West lots), Pequot Library, Southport Congregational Church, and designated retail lots along Post Road. Please arrive early, as local roads surrounding Wakeman Boys & Girls Club will close ahead of the 8:15 AM start.

Early Packet Pick-Up Schedule

To avoid long lines and race-morning stress, we strongly encourage all participants to pick up their bibs and shirts early.

• Tuesday, November 24: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
• Wednesday, November 25: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
• Thursday, November 26 (Race Morning): 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM

Picking Up for Family or Friends? You are welcome to collect packets on behalf of others, provided they know you are picking up for them. Please verify registration details beforehand using the Find a Participant tool.

Seeded Runners

If you’re a fast runner (sub-27 minute men, sub-34 minute women) apply to be part of Pequot’s Seeded Runner Program, which we instituted in 2024. 
You’ll get a special bib, access to a dedicated room to stretch and leave your gear, an escorted “secret” walk to the front of the start line where you’ll find a corral in front of the thousands of other runners in the race, allowing you a clean start as well as an unobstructed pre-race view your competition. Last year we instituted a separate finish line for the top 30 women, giving them their own space to shine,

Elite Finisher Shirts

The top 30 male and female finishers will receive special elite finisher shirts. Again this year instead of the actual shirt you will be handed a card which you can bring to the awards tent to collect your shirt. This will make for a less hectic finish area as well as allowing you to choose your size. To facilitate this the approach to the finish line will be split and marked with cones, with men finishing to the left and women to the right. Once 30 of each gender have finished the finish will be open to everyone across the full road width.
