General
- Are strollers, baby joggers or dogs permitted?
- Strollers, dogs and baby joggers are not permitted in the 5 mile race; they are permitted in the 2.6 mile walk.
- Where can I park?
- Parking is available at the Southport train station parking lots, the Pequot Library, and various retail lots on the Post Road. Also, the Southport Congregational Church offers its parking lots for the race.
- What are the pick-up days/times, entrant limits
- The race & walk is limited to a total of 4000 runners.
- Pick-up will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 AM ‐ 1:00 PM, and 6 pm - 7:30 pm at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, 385 Center Street, Southport.
- How do I check to see if I'm registered for the Thanksgiving Day Race/Walk?
- By using the Find A Participant function, you can see if you are registered.
- New Race Raffle Process
- All participants will have an opportunity to win one of our amazing prizes. We collect the tag from the bottom of your bib at registration or at the race. This tag will serve as your raffle ticket. Once the race starts the raffle committee will select the winning tags. Announcements of the winners will be made once finishers hit the finish line! Prizes will be available for pick up at the Pequot Tent on the turf field, weather permitting or inside the Warren gym.
Registration Check
- What time does the race and walk start?
- 8:15 am, but you need to get there earlier. The later you arrive, the harder it is to find a parking spot.
- Can I sign up someone other than myself?
- Yes, but only immediate family members.
- Can I pick up someone else's race number, shirt, etc.?
- Yes, but be certain that those for whom you are picking up are aware of it.
- Can I pick up my bib, shirt, etc. before race day?
- IMPORTANT: Yes. We strongly encourage you to pick up these materials before race day. Also, we do offer daytime and nighttime pick-up and in-person registration prior to the Thursday event: Monday, 10:00 noon - 1:00 pm & 6 pm - 7:30 pm; Tuesday, 10:00 noon - 1:00 pm & 6 pm - 7:30 pm; Wednesday, 10:00 noon - 1:00 pm & 6 pm - 7:30 pm. Race Day times: 6:30am - 7:30 am
- Will my name appear in bold on my bib?
- Yes, if you register before November 1. Bibs must not be folded so the timing tag on the back of the bib remains intact and must be worn on runners' front of most outer garment and must be clearly visible when crossing the start and finish lines.
- If I become injured or sick and can't run/walk, can I get a refund?
- No, there are no refunds once you have entered unless the event is cancelled in which case you will be refunded your entry fee. The processing fee cannot be refunded.
- Duplicate Registrations
- In the event you have a duplicate registration (someone else registered you in addition to you) E-mail pequotrunners@gmail.com
- Additional Security
- We thank the town of Fairfield and specifically the Fairfield Police Department for assisting us in this endeavor. Fairfield Police will be providing extra officers, both in uniform and civilian clothes in and around the venue. As well, the police will provide EOD dogs before and during the race. These dogs are trained to detect "suspicious" articles.
