Can I register on race day?

You can register race day if we don't sell out! Please register online and then visit the Junction 311 packet pick up table to get your bib! Please register EARLY to ensure you get the FULL Craft Half Experience!

 

How can I check to see if I am registered?

How do I defer my registration to next year? 

  • The defer option can be found by logging on to RunSignUp, navigating to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Defer Registration. 
  • Use this link to explain the step-by-step directions.
  • Just because you deferred your registration, it does not register you for the race the following year. 


How do I claim my deferral? 

  • Once the race is open for the next year, the race director will email you a link to claim your deferral - register using the deferral you set up. If you missed that email you can go into RunSignUp.com profile and ‘claim your deferral’.
  • Use this link, select I would like to Claim my Deferral, follow the steps.
  • A deferral from one year to another does not automatically register you for the race. You must go through the process to claim your deferral. 


How do I transfer my registration to a different distance within the same event?

  • The Transfer Event option can be found by logging on to RunSignup, navigating to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Transfer Event.

How do I transfer my registration to another runner as a gift?

  • The Transfer to Another Runner option can be found by logging on to RunSignup, navigating to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Transfer to Another Runner.

Where is the best place for my family and friends to cheer me on during the race? 

Spectators, friends and family can have a front row seat at designated volunteer locations along the route!  We encourage all ages (youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult) to cheer and support their loved ones all the way to the finish. Please visit our "VOLUNTEER" tab under "PARTICIPATE". Volunteers will receive the same perks as a participant and discount to a future Junction311 event with us! Cheer Stations are located along the course, so check it out HERE.

 

Can I track a friend or family member during the race?

Yes! We are providing you with RaceJoy as part of the official race experience for the Craft Half Marathon. You'll be able to track and cheer them to the finish line all from your mobile device (apple or android). 

Download the RaceJoy mobile app HERE in advance to ensure proper phone setup. Invite your friends and family to track you and send you cheers!

Some key RaceJoy features include:

  • GPS Progress Alerts
  • Receive continual progress updates as you complete your goal.
  • Live GPS Tracking
  • Remote spectators can track your progress live in a map view. You can also track others.
  • Send-a-Cheer
  • Receive supportive audio cheers from remote friends & family.
  • **To use RaceJoy, participants must download and carry their phone and activate tracking on the day of your race. Friends and family must download app and search "Big Beach Marathon" to track participants.

 

Where can I check in my gear?

Gear check will be available near packet pickup/registration.

 

Can I walk the event?

We love our walkers. We ask walkers to be aware that course time limits are race specific. For road races, we ask for a 16 min./mile pace. If you fall below this pace, we can unfortunately no longer guarantee course support—which is paramount for your safety. Aid stations, medical support, portable toilets, and road closures will start to become unavailable to participants. The local police and race organizers will ask you to reroute to a shorter version of the course or move up onto the sidewalk where you will be required to obey regular traffic laws.

 

Where are the aid stations?

Please check "Water/ Aid Stations" tab under Course Info for more details. We will provide water, Gatorade and nutrition (half marathon only at designated stations).

 

Things to do in the area with family and friends?

Winston-Salem is the perfect spot for this race – and for your next adventure! The City of Arts and Innovation is an awesome place to run a great race and have a great time! Are strollers allowed?

Running baby strollers are allowed but must have a minimum of 6″ wheels.

 

What is your race day cancellation, deferral and refund policy?

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Can I run with my pet or use inline skates?

We love our furry friends, but we ask that you keep them home. We do not allow, bicycles, inline skates or any means of transportation other than running, walking, handcycles or wheelchairs.  Race Director reserves the right to reject any entry or to remove any participant from the racecourse without explanation.
