All individuals on the racecourse must be registered.
The deadline to join a team is November 16th at midnight.
A team is a way for groups of people to celebrate together during race night. When registering, participants may choose to join a team or create a new one. Choose to honor a cancer survivor, or special moment. Share your team name with others and encourage them to join. Teams may also choose to raise donations for Miles Perret prior to race night.
The largest team, and the team that raises the most donations will receive special awards at the Awards Ceremony.
Team members are not required to run together, since everyone is timed separately. Participants will be separated into 6 waves at the start line, according to the finish time they provided during registration. However, team members are welcome to select the same finish time at registration, or gather in the same wave in order to run/walk together.
Waves are sections of participants lined up at the start line, in order from fastest finish time to slowest finish time. There are 6 waves, with those who have strollers or plan to walk being encouraged to use the last two waves. Each wave will start the race in 30 second intervals to keep everyone safely spaced out along the racecourse.
"Gleaux” means things that glow-in-the-dark and blink. Every registration comes with glow sticks and a light up ring (while supplies last). The Gleaux Shop is stocked with additional items for purchase to help us light up the night sky.
The Afterglow Party takes place in Town Square, River Ranch, immediately after the race. As participants cross the finish line, they will walk through the City Club tunnel into a grassy area where we will dance, eat, drink, and celebrate the impact we can have when we come together. The event will feature a live DJ, with awards following at 8:00pm.
Participants ARE allowed to pick up packets for other participants.
Please leave anything with four legs or wheels (besides strollers and wheelchairs) at home. Our insurance does not allow us to permit these on the racecourse.
Yes, we will place all participants with strollers in Wave 6. Any child riding in a stroller should be a registered participant for safety purposes.
Yes, every registration is valid for both races.
Absolutely. We welcome your friends and family members to come out and cheer for you along the racecourse. The Afterglow Party in Town Square is open to the public, and food & drink wristbands are available for $7. A wristband is included with every registration.
This race is great for everyone, from the first time walker/ runner to the competitive runner. It is a fun, family event designed for people of all ages and conditions to be able to complete the course at their own pace. Three water stations will be provided along the route for you to stop and catch your breath if needed. All registered participants can choose to participate in the 1 Mile Fun Run beginning at 6:05pm.
The 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 6:05pm. The start line for the 1 Mile Fun Run is at the intersection of Stonemont Rd and Camellia Blvd, facing NW towards Johnston St. Participants should plan to use Stonemont Rd to get from Town Square to the start line.
The 5k Gleaux Run begins at 6:35pm. The start line for the 5k Gleaux Run is over the tunnel in front of City Club, River Ranch, facing NW towards Johnston St. Participants should plan to use Silverstone Rd to get from Town Square to the start line.
Participants for the 5k Gleaux Run will be divided into 6 waves at the start line. Participants with strollers and those who plan to walk will be placed in waves 5 and 6.
Each participant will be given a bib. The bib contains two key features:
1. A timing chip. The timing chip communicates with sensors along the racecourse that track your pace. To ensure accurate timing, please do not obstruct your bib or timing chip during the race.
2. A QR code. The QR code can be scanned with the camera of a smartphone to display your individual results after the race.
Parking is available in the following places:
- Along the streets in and around River Ranch
- In parking lots of businesses that have closed
- Silverstone Parking Garage
**The City Club Parking lot is open ONLY to City Club members. Towing will be enforced.**
Please keep in mind that Camellia Blvd will be closed from cross street Silverstone to Eastland from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Miles Perret Cancer Services. Thank you for supporting families fighting cancer in Acadiana.
For those who want to contribute beyond the registration fee, there is a special way for you to help families in Acadiana fighting cancer. A $25 donation with your registration provides a colorful bib to recognize your generosity in Going the Extra Mile for our neighbors. The donation will help purchase wigs, nutritional supplements, medical supplies, and more, which Miles Perret Cancer Services provides to families at no charge.
The Kids Zone is a fun area intended for ages 12 and under. Activities include crafts, games, face painting, and more! The Kids Zone opens at 5:00pm. All children need a wristband to participate in Kid Zone activities. Wristbands are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at Packet Pickup or at the Information Tent in Town Square.
