When do I need to show up to volunteer? And How long will I be at my post?

The race begins at 7:15am. Traffic on race day may be congested, and limited on certain roads throughout Carrollton.

If you are assigned at a post/Aid Station located in the first third of the race (before mile 4), it is best to be at your assigned location by 6:45am. You can expect all race participants to have gone through by 8:30 am.

If you are assigned at a post/Aid Station located in the middle of the race (~ mile 5 to mile 8), it is best to be at your assigned location by 7:15 am. You can expect the last race participants to be coming through by 10:05 am.

If you are assigned at a post/Aid Station located after mile 8, it is best to be at your assigned location by 7:45am. You can expect the last race participants to be coming through by 11:15 am.

Where do I show up to volunteer?
If you signed up for an Aid Station, you can go directly to that Aid station. If you are a Course Pointer more information will be distributed by the Race Director. Please take a close look at the course map and directions posted in the volunteer emails (following signing up) for information about locations.

Start and Finish line volunteers should navigate to the Carrollton Amp (119 Bradley St, Carrollton, GA). There will be volunteer tables set up in this general vicinity.

Do I have to wear the volunteer shirt?
Yes. This shirt communicates to runners, other volunteers, and emergency personnel that you are a volunteer for the event. If you signed up to volunteer after the date to guarantee a shirt we suggest you wear a hi-vis color so you can easily be seen in traffic (important for pointers especially).

Can I cheer while volunteering? Absolutely!!

What do I do when volunteering?
A message from the Race Director will be sent out in the days leading up to the race with specific information.

Aid Station volunteers are posted at designated locations on the race course (the one you signed up for on the website) to hand out hydration. Course Pointers will be assigned to an intersection where they will guide runners in the correct direction on the course. Course Pointers are not charged with directing traffic.

All volunteers are expected to be alert during the event.
